I received an alert this afternoon on my mobile phone to say there was an immediate chance of the Northern Lights being seen in our area so I headed up to The MacDiarmid Memorial for a good view. As I got there the sky in the north became much darker but the sunset to the west was spectacular so I took these photos. Five minutes later the sun had set and the snow started so no chance of seeing The Aurora Borealis. When I got home the reading on my phone App had dropped dramatically so I have still not seen the Northern Lights in Langholm yet.
